Restricted District Court Records

District Court access is governed by Idaho court rules as well as public-record laws. Idaho Court Administrative Rule 32 controls public access to court records and identifies exempt records. The public portal also warns that sealed cases and exempt information do not appear. Sealed event entries are not available for public inspection, and some entries are not visible in search results.

Restricted categories can include juvenile records, adoption and termination proceedings, hospitalization and mental-health records, search or arrest warrant support materials before return, pretrial risk assessments, presentence reports, personal identifiers, and other law-restricted material. A clerk can release public records, but a clerk cannot bypass a sealing order or confidentiality rule.

Idaho's exemption statute is reflected in Idaho Code 74-104, which covers records made confidential by federal or state law.
