Washington County Arrest Records and Charges
An arrest record is a law-enforcement record. It can be tied to a sheriff report, citation, jail booking, probable cause paperwork, or agency routing notes. A court charge record is different. It is the accusation filed in court after arrest, citation, or summons, and it is tracked through iCourt as part of the criminal case. Washington County sources for this path include the Sheriff's Records Department, the jail roster, the active warrant search, the Prosecuting Attorney, and the Idaho iCourt Portal.
The Sheriff's Records Department says it organizes and maintains paperwork generated by deputies and criminal investigations, processes criminal reports and citations, routes them to appropriate prosecution sections or agencies, and handles public-records requests. When a person is booked into jail, the custody side may appear in the Washington County roster. When a charge is filed in court, the case side may appear through iCourt. The full case outcome, sentence, and judgment belong in the Washington County criminal court records file.

That sheriff source is useful for the arrest side, while iCourt and the prosecutor source control the court charge side.
Search Washington County Arrest Records
There is no single Washington County page that combines every arrest report, booking, filed charge, and disposition into one complete public record. Use a channel based on the question. Current custody starts with the Zuercher inmate roster. Filed charges and charge status start with iCourt. Police or sheriff reports and citations go through the Sheriff's Records Department. Prosecutor-filed charges and later court events appear in the court case when they are public.
- Check the Washington County jail roster for current custody if the person may still be booked locally.
- Search iCourt Smart Search by defendant name or case number for filed court charges.
- Review each charge count, statute, case status, hearing entry, and disposition line.
- Contact the Sheriff's Records Department for report or citation records that are not court filings.
- Contact District Court or Magistrate Court for certified copies or records not visible in public iCourt.

That office is the local fallback when the needed item is a report, citation, or law-enforcement record rather than a court docket entry.
Washington County Charges After Arrest
The Washington County Prosecuting Attorney is the local office that turns many arrests and citations into filed charges when the case involves state law or county ordinances and the arresting or charging officer is a state or county employee. The prosecutor page says the office handles felony criminal actions, misdemeanor or infraction actions in those categories, preliminary criminal examinations before magistrates, and drawing indictments, informations, or accusations.
| Charging Document | Who Uses It | What It Does |
|---|---|---|
| Complaint | Officer or prosecutor | Starts many misdemeanor, infraction, and early criminal matters in court. |
| Information | Prosecutor | Formally states charges, often in felony matters after probable cause or waiver. |
| Indictment | Grand jury process | Accuses a person through grand jury action when that route is used. |
The charge document matters because it names the count, statute, severity, and accusation that the court will track. One arrest can lead to one charge, several counts, reduced counts, dismissed counts, or no filed case. The court record should be checked again after arraignment and disposition because the first accusation may not be the final outcome.
Washington County Charge Status
Charge status changes as the case moves. A charge may begin as pending, then be amended, reduced, dismissed, or resolved by plea or trial. The docket may also show warrants, bond events, continuances, or payment entries that affect the case but do not by themselves prove conviction. Read status entries with the disposition and judgment lines.
| Status | Meaning in a Court Charge Record |
|---|---|
| Pending | The accusation is filed and has not reached final disposition. |
| Amended | The charge wording, statute, count, or severity was changed by filing or order. |
| Reduced | The final charge is lower or different from the original accusation. |
| Dismissed | The charge was ended by the court, with or without limits on refiling. |
| Disposition entered | The court has recorded an outcome for the count, such as guilty, not guilty, or dismissal. |
Note: A Washington County arrest can be public while the later charge is changed or dismissed, so charge status must be checked separately.
Washington County Charges vs Convictions
A court charge is not a conviction. A charge shows what was alleged. A conviction shows an offense proved by plea, verdict, or other final court action. Washington County arrest records may point to why someone was booked, but the court record is needed to see what was filed and how the count ended.
| Question | Charge | Conviction |
|---|---|---|
| What is it? | An accusation filed after arrest, citation, or summons. | A final finding or admitted offense in court. |
| Where appears? | Charge list, complaint, information, indictment, and early docket events. | Disposition, judgment, sentence, and financial entries. |
| Can it change? | Yes, it may be amended, reduced, or dismissed. | It can be appealed, corrected, sealed, or later affected by lawful order. |
| Best source | iCourt case and prosecutor filing. | Final court judgment and sentencing record. |
The Idaho public-records source shown below comes from Idaho Code 74-102, the general public-records presumption.
That statute supports access in broad terms, but court rules and law-enforcement exemptions still limit some arrest and charge details.
Washington County Prosecutor Charges
The elected prosecutor is True Pearce. The office is at 343 E Main Street in Weiser, phone 208-414-2034, with weekday hours listed as 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. The prosecutor is not called a district attorney in Washington County. Research identifies the local title as Prosecuting Attorney, and that term should be used when reading charge records or contacting the office.
For statewide criminal history, Idaho Code 67-3008 governs release of criminal history record information. That is a separate system from a public iCourt search. iCourt tells what happened in a case file. A repository record follows Idaho criminal history rules and may require written request, eligibility, and different verification steps. Do not treat a court charge lookup as a full background check.
Important: Arrest records and charges may not be used for FCRA-regulated decisions unless the user follows applicable screening law.
Restricted Washington County Arrest Records
Some Washington County arrest and charge records are limited even when adult criminal court records are often public. Idaho Code 74-105 covers law-enforcement, investigatory, juvenile, correctional, and related sensitive exemptions. ICAR 32 controls court-record access. Juvenile records are treated differently from adult records, and the Zuercher public configurations suppress juvenile inmates and warrants.
| Record Type | Public Access Limit |
|---|---|
| Juvenile arrest or charge | Not handled like an ordinary public adult arrest record. |
| Active investigation | Reports may be delayed or withheld under law-enforcement exemptions. |
| Sealed court record | iCourt may hide the case or event entry from public search. |
| Personal identifiers | Protected numbers, victim data, and minor names may be redacted. |
The Idaho State Police search image below comes from the Idaho sex offender name search, a separate state source that should not be confused with arrest charges or criminal history.
State registry results answer a different public-safety question than whether a Washington County charge was filed, amended, or dismissed.

Zuercher modules may share a sheriff portal, but each module has its own field rules and public limits.
The law-enforcement exemption image below comes from Idaho Code 74-105.
Those exemptions explain why a sheriff report request may produce redactions even when the court charge is visible in iCourt.
